Lamborghini has unveiled the spectacular new Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4, both a hypercar in its own right and a homage to the brilliant original Lamborghini Countach, which was made from the 1974 until 1990. Lamborghini has incorporated many design elements of the original into the new Countach, but at the same time it looks modern and even futuristic. The Countach LPI 800-4 shares most of its tech with the Lamborghini Sian, but the body is all-new.

Design is as mad as on the old one! Vents, scoops, ducts, and razor sharp lines. Wheel arch design is a clear nod to the original, and it has scissor doors of course. The Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is powered by a V12 hybrid drive train. The 6.5 liter naturally aspirated V12 engine is mated to electric motor that sits right behind the gearbox. Combined output is 804 hp and 745 Nm. Gearbox is a 7-speed ISR (Independent Shifting Rods), sending horses to all four wheels. Lamborghini claims a top speed of 355 kilometers per hour, a 0-100 in 2.8 seconds and a 0-200 in only 8.6 seconds. To put that in comparison; the most powerful original Countach had 450 hp and a 295 km/h top speed.
The Countach LPI 800-4 needs 30 meters to come to a stop from 100 km/h. It is fitted with a new dual-hydraulic circuit brake system with vacuum brake booster. It uses ventilated and cross drilled carbon ceramic brake discs. At the front, de brake disc has a diameter of 400 millimeter and a thickness of 38 millimeter, at the back the diameter is 380 and thickness again 38 millimeter. The front brakes use six-piston brake calipers and the rear brakes go with four-piston calipers.
Lamborghini will only make 112 units of the new Countach, priced around $2.5 million each, and they have all sold out. That, however, is not the end of it. Lamborghini is working on an even faster track-focused variant of the Countach, and a full-electric version is rumored to be under development as well.
