This is the new Tushek TS 900 Apex, a hypercar developed and manufactured in Slovenia. Tushek was founded in 2012 when they launched the TS 500 roadster, which was followed in 2014 by the TS 600 coupe. Only a handful were made of each car. The new TS 900 Apex is going to be the brand’s first real production vehicle, with a planned output of 90 units.
The TS 500 and TS 600 were purely petrol-powered, but the TS 900 Apex gets a hybrid powertrain, and one that is rather powerful… The system combines an Audi-sourced 4.2 liter V8 with two electric motors. The V8 is located in the middle, the electric motors on the front and rear axles. Combined output is a massive 1340 hp and 1600 Nm.
The engine is mated to a sequential 6 speed racing gearbox. The electric motors get their juice from a 700V 2x 7,5 kWh liquid-cooled battery pack. The body is made from carbon fiber and the entire car weighs only 1410 kilo curb. It is slippery too; drag coefficient is just 0.36 Cd. The numbers make for loads of speed! 0-100 takes 2.5 seconds and top speed is 380 kilometers per hour.
With those speeds a hypercar needs massive brakes. And the TS 900 Apex has giant stoppers. The ventilated ceramic brake discs and brake calipers are sourced from Italian brake maker Brembo. At the front, the brake discs have a diameter of 397 millimeter and a width of 37 millimeter. At the rear, the brake discs have a diameter of 370 millimeter and a width of 34 millimeter. The front brakes are fitted with 6-piston calipers and the rear brakes with 4-piston calipers.
Tushek has ambitious plans for the TS 900 Apex. The company is developing a track-version that will be much lighter and even more powerful. Next up is a full electric version, powered by three large electric motors, which will be even faster still. Great car things are happening in Slovenia!
