Major car brands agree to build Ultra-Fast, High-Power Charging along highways in Europe

BMW, Daimler, Ford, Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to create the highest-powered charging network in Europe. The goal is the quick build-up of a sizable number of stations in order to enable long-range travel for battery electric vehicle drivers.

Jaguar is joining the race among luxury brands to market electric vehicles with the I-Pace crossover concept introduced late Monday ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show. The production version of the EV will be shown in late 2017 and go on sale in the U.S. in the second half of 2018.
